Sustainability and environment<\/h4>

We work consciously to reduce our carbon footprint on a daily basis. We want to ensure we have healthy places to live for generations to come.<\/p>

Producer responsibility<\/h4>

From 1 July 2001 and 13 August 2005 there are new Swedish and European regulations in place regarding producer responsibilities for disposal of discarded electrical household appliances etc.\u00a0 The WEEE directive. We are of course honoring the requirement by joining the system El-Kretsen, which means we pay an environmental\u00a0 fee to El-Kretsen. The fee is charged to our customers. The fee will cover the costs for future recycling of smoke alarms and also contribute to the cost of historical waste. We also pay a fee for the batteries included in the smoke alarms we sell.\u00a0<\/p>

Packaging<\/h4>

We have removed our blister packaging where possible and today almost all our packaging is paper. As far as recycling of packaging material is concerned, we are members of the Packaging and Newspaper Collection. In addition, we reuse our packaging material. .<\/p>

Transportation<\/h4>

We want to avoid unnecessary return shipping that has a negative impact on the environment. We only offer free return\u00a0 shipping when using the right of withdrawal.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>

Development lab<\/h4>

We have our own development lab in house. We test and quality assure our products in this lab. We do not need to send our products to an external lab for analysis or testing. We perform this ourselves in order to speed up the process and provide swift replies to our customers. All our smoke detectors are carefully selected based on quality and performance. Most of our products have a battery life time of 5 or 10 years to reduce the battery recycling.\u00a0<\/p>

Code of Conduct<\/h5>

Our Code of Conduct is based on the ILO conventions as well as the human rights of the UN, and forms a part of the terms of reference for our suppliers. Our Code of Conduct defines the minimum requirements, that we demand of our suppliers and sub-suppliers with regards to social and environmental standards. We put forward a number of clear goals and requirements when we select them as partners. It is essential, that all our suppliers adhere to our Code of Conduct.\u00a0<\/p>

By demanding that these requirement are met, we want to ensure that the products are manufactured under fair working conditions. As an example, optimal safety standards need to be in plae to the protect the working environment.
